The Croatian Cultural Centre in Rijeka is Springback Ringside’s new hub
12 January 2022Aerowaves virtual reality project has its new production centre at the Croatian Cultural Centre (HKD) in Rijeka (Croatia).
The team led by our partner Edvin Liverić will coordinate and produce the filming and touring of Springback Ringside, which was selected by Perform Europe, an EU-funded scheme which aims to rethink cross-border performing arts presentation in a more inclusive, sustainable and balanced way.
The creative team of the project, Enya Belak and Igor Crnkovic, are currently making a VR recording of Igor and Moreno’s classic ‘Idiot-Syncrasy’, the hit of Spring Forward in 2015. The piece in VR will tour during 2022 across Croatia, Italy, Hungary, Czech Republic, Serbia and Slovenia. The aim of the tour is to reach a diverse range of groups, including those with little or no previous experience of contemporary dance or VR technology.
Ringside in short: Aerowaves’ Virtual Reality project gathers a group of spectators together to watch performances followed by a Springback Q&A – a post-show talk with the artists conducted live by a Springback writer.
