The programme included the Aerowaves Twenty26 from 17 countries and showcased an exciting and diverse selection of emerging dance makers working across Europe.

In addition, Quebequoise choreographer Emmanuel Jouthe presented an adaptation performed by a local group of dance students from FAÍCC – Intensive Course in Interpretation and Choreography, by Instável – Centro Coreográfico. Along with the performances, the European Green Capital offered a special city tour and a presentation on sustainability, and the schedule also featured a facilitated talk with artists.

The festival was also an opportunity to meet the international group of journalists and writers of the Springback Academy, the producers and curators of the Startup Forum programme, dance makers based in Portugal as part of Artists Encounter and for the second time we organised the broadcasters of the Podcast Academy.

Aerowaves is Co-funded by the European Union and Spring Forward 2026 was made possible thanks to Oficina.
