La briqueterie to host the third Moving Borders International Workshop
8 November 2024After the workshops in Prague (CZ) in June and at Arte Sella (IT) in August, the team of Moving Borders will meet at La briqueterie CDCN du Val-de-Marne from 18-20 November 2024.
For this meeting we receive a special support from the institut ukranien.
About the project
‘Moving Borders –approaches to dance from the Ukrainian diaspora across Europe’, is a project led by Aerowaves which brings together the museum Arte Sella (IT), La Briqueterie CDCN (FR) and Tanec Praha (CZ), and is supported by the Creative Europe programme of the EU. Through this cooperation project we are exploring how three female dance artists from Ukraine are informing approaches to welcoming and engaging refugees through dance, and in the development of inclusive and cohesive practices across Europe.
The upcoming meeting at La briqueterie
The meeting will include working sessions using physical practices and reflection to explore notions of borders and identity.
From language and movement improvisation to contemporary Palestinian dabke, two guest artists Léonce Noah and Nur Garabli will each share their practice and experience of resistance and community building in contexts of conflict or migration.
What are borders, physical or emotional ? How do we navigate transitions ? What makes us human? These questions will be explored in an afternoon session with artists Rita Lira, Nur Garabli and Sylvie Balestra and a group of youngsters, triggered by the show Rites de passage.
