Listen to the Artists Encounter Dublin podcast!

Listen | 19 December 2024

The fourth edition of Artists Encounter took place at Dance Ireland from 4 until 8 November 2024, with 11 dance makers based in Ireland.

Artists Encounter Dublin 2024 was organised in collaboration with Dance Ireland, and with the support of The Arts Council and the Italian Cultural Institute in Dublin.

Are you a dancemaker dreaming about making your own solo?

Ever wished you could compare notes with other dancemakers where you live?

Ever longed for the opportunity to talk to a group of experts who’d ‘been there and done that’?

Artists’ Encounter Dublin offered 11 Ireland-based dancemakers the chance to do just that with 4 international Aerowaves artists.

Curious to hear how it went?

Artists Encounter in Dublin included performances of three former Aerowaves artists, Silvia Gribaudi, Eva Recacha and Jean-Baptiste Baele, on 4 and 5 November. The participants took part in shared physical practices led by the choreographers and experienced teacher and performer Lauren Potter, and analysed the dramaturgy of the works and explore compositional tools. The project brought additional expertise through renowned dramaturg Monica Gillette and other facilitators to help contextualise the performances and connect to the practices of the participants.
