Artists Encounter in Gorizia

As part of the Spring Forward Festival in Gorizia (IT) and Nova Gorica (SI) on 24-26 April 2025, Aerowaves Europe is inviting 10 dance makers based in Friuli Venezia Giulia, Veneto, Trentino Alto Adige or Slovenia to participate in an intensive capacity building programme which includes a professional development workshop, opportunities to network and access to the Spring Forward festival programme.

NOTE: We will invite the 10 participants to scheduled meetings, workshops, and all the festival’s events and performances, including lunches and dinners. Aerowaves will not be able to cover travel and accommodation expenses, nor pay a fee to the participants. 

• Meet and talk
  Online meeting with Elisabetta Bisaro, Roberto Casarotto and Anna Arthur to get to know more about Aerowaves, its aims and activities.
• Professional development workshop
  Led by Anikó RÁCZ, artistic director of SÍN Arts Center Hungary, and Markéta Perroud, a dance professional and an expert in artistic European projects, this workshop focuses on working in an international context and artistic career development. It also offers an insight to Aerowaves.
• An Extra programme on 23 April 2025 (before the festival kicks off) includes two events. Firstly, the presentation of an adaptation of ‘AHAI’ by the Japanese choreographer Kenta Kojiri (supported by EU-Japan Fest and in collaboration with the Yokohama Dance Collection) with a group of young dancers from the region.  Secondly the presentation of ‘FLUX’ by the Quebecoise choreographer Elie-Anne Ross (Supported by the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec in collaboration with Le Danse sur les routes de Québec) performed by students of the Agora programme led by MM Contemporary Dance Company. In addition, there will also be the Springback Academy 10th anniversary celebration.
• Access to the festival programme (24 – 26 April 2025). The participants will have free access to the 22 performances of the Aerowaves Spring Forward Festival programme. These are the twenty one companies selected by the partners this year and ‘Amaterski tihotapci / Contrabbandieri dilettanti’ by En–Knap / Silvia Gribaudi & Andrea Rampazzo.

Participants are also invited to the receptions offered to festival guests.

Who we are looking for:
We are looking for emerging dance makers curious to discover different facets of contemporary dance across Europe and interested in developing and/or expanding their connections with international artists and presenters. Applicants must be available to participate in all the scheduled events as part of Artists Encounter.
