Biography
Katerina Andreou, born in Athens, is based in France. She creates dances, music and choreography. She graduated both from the Law School – University of Athens, and the State School of Dance in Athens. As a scholar of the Greek foundation “K.Pratsika”, she attended the program ESSAIS in CNDC d’ Angers in 2011, under the direction of Emmanuelle Huyhn, and today holds a masters degree in research and choreography (Paris 8). She was a danceweber at Impulstanz Festival in Vienna in 2015. She collaborates with DD Dorvillier, Emmanuelle Huynh, Dinis Machado, Lenio Kaklea, Anna Gaiotti, Ana Rita Teodoro, Jocelyn Cottencin.
As a choreographer, she is interested in developing states of presence that negotiate between contrasted tasks, fictions and universes. Her work questions the relation to ideas as authority and autonomy, communication and censorship. She regularly creates the music score of her pieces.
Her solo A kind of fierce was awarded with the prize Prix Jardin d’Europe in ImpulsTanz Festival in 2016. She is PANORAMA ARTIST of international network DNA – Departures and Arrivals.
