After earning an Honors degree in jazz at the University of Miami in 2004, Dan Kinzelman moved to Europe and to Italy where he has been living since 2005. He quickly embraced the Italian scene, joining the band of Italian trumpet legend Enrico Rava and collaborating with emerging talents of his own generation such as Giovanni Guidi, Simone Graziano and William Tatge.
His work is characterised by a strongly irreverent streak, combined with a profound knowledge of jazz history and a voracious appetite for risk and sonic exploration.
