Two women sit eating sunflower seeds in a park, doorway or patio. They share an everyday space filled with conversation and the intimacy of silence. Suddenly they burst into song and dance, transforming the moment into a magical space where time and place dissolve.

In Taranto Aleatorio (“Random Taranto”), choreographer and dancer María del Marárez/La Chachi and singer Lola Dolores interpret the taranto tradition in a personal way. The raw taranto is a variant of flamenco from the mining region of Almería in Andalusia, where the dance is accompanied by simple singing without guitar.

The two artists master the power of the stage and create a warm and intense atmosphere with their immediate and fearless presence. The choreography shifts effortlessly between simple movements and powerful, swirling steps, where the rhythm of the heels mixes strength with melancholy. The space is filled with a song that could go on forever.
