53 dance professionals gather in Bratislava for the Annual Selection Meeting
24 October 2024Aerowaves partners and dance professionals gathered in Bratislava from the 21-23 October 2024 to select the next #Twenty25 Artists.
Supported by the Slovak Arts Council, City of Bratislava and by Nadácia mesta Bratislavy, our partner Mira Kovarova and the team at Bratislava in Movement Association hosted our Annual Selection Meeting at Primate’s Palace.
We also invited three emerging dance curators from Startup Forum 2024, Dimitris Chimonas (Greece), Ilias Chatzigeorgiou (Cyprus) and Samuel Retortillo/Growing Movements (Spain) to participate in the meeting.
We were joined by Giancarlo Schilter (Artisti Associati), who is part of the Spring Forward 2025 team (Gorizia and Nova Gorica, 24 – 26 April 2025 European Capital of Culture).
Other attendees included: the chairman of Aerowaves’ board Willie White; the director of the Startup Forum and also a board member Betsy Gregory; and Springback Academy director Oonagh Duckworth.
The group discussed hundreds of submissions from across Europe as well as the wider activities of Aerowaves and its partners, and attended performances by Slovakian artists.
