Biography

Marie Kaae (she/her) is an internationally known performer, educator and choreographer with Danish, Kurdish and Cameroonian (Bantu) heritage holding twenty-five years of experience in professional dance. She made her name known in the international battle scene with her dynamic and graceful style that continues to inspire dancers in her genre. Her practice is anchored in the cultural life of Afro-American club culture and the ambitious artform that is House Dance. 

Marie is currently focused on developing choreographic work, while advocating for the need of legitimate and authentic representation of Black dance genres within a professional and institutional context. 

She’s joined in WIRED by the Swedish based Afro-American pioneer Damon Frost who is a master of rhythm and funk with an impressive artistry, pedagogy and humanity that has earned him multiple awards for his music and dance work and the unofficial title of the grandfather of Funk in the nordic countries.
