Zee Hartmann, The Netherlands/ South Africa
Zee Hartmann is from Cape Town, South Africa. She holds degrees from Beloit College (BA Dance), Sarah Lawrence College (MFA Dance) and the University of Cape Town (MA Dramaturgy). In New York she held a full-time position as the Archivist for the Twyla Tharp Dance Foundation. In Cape Town she founded and directed The Line & Light Dance Collective. She has presented scholarly articles at the Literary Managers and Dramaturgs’ Association and at the Women in Dance Leadership Conference, as well as taught workshops in Cape Town, San Francisco, Chicago, New York and Amsterdam. Zee co-authored Choreographic Journal: seeing/vidjeti with Marjana Krajač, published in August 2018 in Croatia. Most recently she completed a residency at PAUL studios in Berlin, where she premiered a new work performed in collaboration with Joni Barnard. She currently splits her time between Amsterdam and Berlin.
