Jordi Ribot i Thunnissen, Spain/Netherlands
I see myself as an ‘Agent for the Divulgation of Dance’. While still active as a performer and choreographer, I also focus on writing and talking about dance as a freelance author, teacher and lecturer. I am currently engaged in a PhD research around the poetics of Dutch choreographer Hans van Manen. As a dance practitioner, I create my own work and collaborate with others as a dramaturgic advisor or as a performer. My current creative interest lies in finding a format for a performance-lecture that allows me to talk about dance on stage without undermining the power of its appearance. While currently living in Amsterdam, my professional activities are divided between the Netherlands and Catalonia, where I grew up and completed my studies in Journalism (BA), Choreography (BA) and Theatre Studies (MA).
