Emily May is a British arts writer currently based in Berlin. Whilst studying contemporary dance at Trinity Laban in London, where she performed in a recreation of Matthew Bourne's Highland Fling, and worked with choreographers including Ben Wright and Lizzi Kew-Ross, Emily began reviewing dance by taking part in Resolution Review at The Place. She has gone on to intern for international publications including Exberliner, Culture Calling and SLEEK, recently interviewing renowned choreographers Trajal Harrell and Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, and covering the Bauhaus Centenary Festival for The Wonderful World of Dance and MutualArt.com. Emily has also presented her own choreography at Somerville College (Oxford University), The Ashmolean Museum, Royal Holloway University, The University of Vienna and The Brewery Arts Centre. She has been mentored by choreographer Rosie Kay, and currently sits on her Board of Directors.
