Beatrix Joyce, UK/Netherlands/Germany
Beatrix Joyce is a dance artist and dance writer based in Berlin. Her performative works range from a recycling of James Joyce’s Ulysses to a live poll set in the future - by drawing new connections and using available technology (such as the audience’s smartphones) she seeks to challenge what forms audience interaction could take. She is the English editor of the dance blog Viereinhalbsätze and works freelance for EXBERLINER magazine and Berlin Art Link. Since 2017, she produces multi-disciplinary, live events with the performance collective Maiden Speech. She trained in Contemporary Dance at Laban, London (2014) and obtained an MA in Sociology from Goldsmiths University (2016).
