The remains lie intact and reveal where the victims died in 79 A.D.

Inspired by Pompeii’s suggestive cast of ‘lovers’ – two twisted bodies embracing one another – Adriano Bolognino’s duet digs into the intimate gesture suddenly interrupted by the overbearing force of nature, still preserved forever. Locked in their eternal embrace, the lovers’ identity and story remains a mystery.

With solemn and somber music, Bolognino’s duet invites the audience to visit this 2000 year embrace through a sculptural choreography stretching time and gesture.
