Biography

Dagmar Dachauer is a freelance dancer, performer, choreographer and filmmaker, based in Brussels and Austria. After graduating in music, she studied dance at the Amsterdam School of Arts and at P.A.R.T.S. in Brussels. She also followed courses in handstand and dance acrobatics at DOCH in Stockholm.

In 2015, she founded the art association umfug, through which she produces stage work as well as film projects with collaborators coming from various backgrounds such as music, sound design, cinematography, visual arts and ecology. One of her ongoing projects is the dance film series Competing for Sunlight, in which she choreographs and directs dances with different tree species.

As a freelance performer, Dagmar has worked with a.o. Christoph Winkler, Dance/Performance Group T.r.a.s.h., Luke Baio & Dominik Grünbühel and Kevin Trappeniers.

For several years she has been co-directing, managing and co-curating the art festival SPIEL in rural Austria. In 2015, she co-curated Secret Hotel’s Landscape Dialogues Summer Lab in Mols, located in one of Denmark’s National Parks.

Dagmar often assists creative processes and productions as an advisor, choreographic assistant, coach or external eye and is a guest teacher at the BA and MA programme of IUI Belgrade (SRB).

Her solo Wunderbare Jahre (2015), as well as its excerpt Wie soll ich das erklären, about the Viennese Waltz, has been awarded and presented internationally (a.o. U.S.A., South-Korea, Israel, Germany, U.K., Cyprus, Spain, Serbia, Slovenia, Italy, Austria). Her latest work The Feline Project, is a collaboration with video artist Kilian Immervoll.

Kilian Immervoll obtained his master’s degree in Fine Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna and he also studied at Central Saint Martins in London. His work has been shown in national and international forums (eg mumok, Vienna; vkunst IV, Frankfurt; Austro Sino Arts Program, Chongqing; Camden Collective, London).

In addition to his own projects, Kilian has collaborated in many multidisciplinary art projects with artists from different backgrounds: visual arts, film, dance, and music. Within those collaborations, he also fulfilled various roles, such as camera work, sound design, composition, and post-production. Kilian lives and works in Vienna.
