AU

On a sparse stage baking under acid yellow light, a woman introduces us to snatches of the Australian outback. She is joined by an Austrian man in a formal tail-coat, pacing circles with fragments of Viennese waltz. By mining their cultural backgrounds and digging around in the idea of ‘elsewhere’ they create AU. Weaving together live music and movements drawn from the whole of their experience as dancers, AU becomes a hybrid place composed of lost ideas and vagabond identities.
