Dansens Hus

Dansens Hus Oslo is Norway’s national stage for dance. It is a programming venue for contemporary dance, offering a wide rage of productions from small scale, emerging work to big, international productions.

Dansens Hus is situated in a converted factory building in a former industrial district beside the Akerselva river, that opened in 2004. From 30 to 40 productions are presented every year. The theatre consists of two stages and is among the most modern theatre houses in Oslo.

Karene Lyngholm is the producer for Fjelldansen regional centre and She was the founding artistic director of Dansens Hus Oslo from 2004 – 2010.

From 2010 - 2013, she managed a
long term collaboration between DTS (Norway) and CITO (BurkinaFaso). Karene spent ten years as the coordinator of the Nobel Peace Prize children's performance and seven years as coordinator for the Norwegian Grammy Awards. In 2010, she was producer for Norway Public TV's interval show during the European Song Contest. She was also producer for Zerovisibility Corp for four years and in 1994 was the assistant choreographer for the Winter Olympics in Lillehammer, Norway.

Karene is currently on the board of five performing arts organisations and has in the past served as president of the European DanceHouse Network and as vice president for NODA, the Union of Norwegian Dance Artists. She has been involved in four EU funded international co-operation projects.
